Congratulations to Toastmaster Cindy Resita, Member of The British Toastmasters Club – Jakarta, for her remarkable achievement as the winner of 2009 Division 1-51 Table Topics Speech Contest, that was held on Saturday, April 28, 2009 in Museum Bank Mandiri Jakarta.

She will be competing in the District level this April in Kuching, Malaysia.

British Toastmasters Club Contest

On Feb 26, British Toastmasters Club just held a Club Speech Contest for International Speech Contest & Table Topics Speech Contest. The winners are :

For International Speech Contest

1st place : Lola Delfin, TM
2nd place : Muqlazh Yusufi, TM

For Table Topics Speech Contest

1st place : Cindy Resita, TM
2nd place : Alvin Anwari, TM

All of them will represent this club to the area contest (1-1) that will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2009.

Toastmasters speech contests have three main purposes:

1. to provide an opportunity for proficient speakers and those Toastmasters who are interested in competitive speaking to gain contest experience;

2. to provide an interesting educational program for Toastmasters and the general public (contests can create a community awareness of the opportunities in the Toastmasters program); and

3. to provide an opportunity to those Toastmasters who are not participating in the the contest to learn by observing proficient speakers. They are also a great way to meet other Toastmasters outside of your club, to see the "bigger" picture and scope of Toastmasters, and above all - have fun!
